Where We Call Home, 1st Edition. Camera Flow Studios. March, 2026. 100 copies.

Encompassing 60 images captured across six years in Cleveland, Columbus, and Chicago,, Where We Call Home captures the poetry and universal human experience found in city streets.

Street Photography has a powerful way of humanizing others and drawing attention to everyday moments we take for granted. Approaching it as a life-enhancing, history-making craft, I’m endlessly drawn to the stories the world holds. During last Friday’s event for my exhibition and book release, it was so amazing to talk with new people about how my art makes them feel. Hearing comments such as they “inspire feelings of purpose in life” and describe “beauty that makes all of the trouble of the world go away.”

Whether it’s moments of peace, passion, or pain, constantly witnessing the inherent dignity that each and every one of us has makes this craft more fulfilling than anything else I’ve ever done.

University Circle Inc. graciously organized this event that was not originally part of the residency! Once I let them know I was finalizing my book, they went above and beyond to support this significant milestone. Being their Artist in Residence has been a dream come true, and there’s so much more that we plan to do.

The next component of my residency is teaching Analog Photography, a program for folks of all ages in the Cleveland community. Having been an Educator since 2022 thanks to the prestigious TeachArtsOhio grant, cultivating passion and appreciation for photography in my students has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

In these upcoming Spring and Fall sessions of the class, we’ll be taking photo walks around the city using instant film cameras. The immediate feedback & magic of that process continues to instill wonder over 50 years later, and I’m excited to see the work that participants will make.
